Registration of citizens of Azerbaijan

Procedures for registration of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan residing permanently or temporarily in foreign countries by diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan are approved by the Decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 12.09.2012 No. Q/07-12 "Registration of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign countries" and "Rules of registration of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan engaged in paid labor activity". According to those Regulations, the consular registration of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who live in foreign countries on legal basis on a permanent or temporary basis is ensured by the diplomatic missions or consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Consular registration of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan living abroad permanently or temporarily is carried out in order to protect their rights, legal interests and security.

Consular registration of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan is free of charge.

There are no consular records in the passports of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan living abroad. If the citizen so wishes, the consulate provides a freely written certificate of his temporary residence registration.

Children of the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, registered at the consulate, who have not reached the age of 16, are recorded in the registration form of one of their parents. In this case, copies of the child's birth certificate and parents' marriage certificate (if any) are submitted to the Embassy.

The following documents are required for consular registration of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan who is a permanent resident of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, where the embassy is accredited:

Account card of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan permanently living in a foreign country;
Color photo for passport - 1 piece;
Citizen's passport of the Republic of Azerbaijan confirming the citizen's identity;
Copy of identity card;
A copy of the document confirming that a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan has a permanent residence permit in Argentina;
Citizen's written application to the Diplomatic representation to be registered.
Citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan temporarily living in a foreign country (more than 3 months) are registered at the consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan accredited to the territory where they work, study, receive treatment or live.

The following documents are required for consular registration of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan temporarily living in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay:

Account card of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan temporarily living in a foreign country;
A copy of the citizen's passport of the citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan confirming the citizen's identity;
A copy of the document confirming that a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan has a residence permit in Argentina;
Citizen's written application to the Diplomatic representation to be registered.
